What is a pigeon's natural diet?
As cities pop up and grow, the diet of a pigeon evolves, but these birds were once creatures of the wild, and they did have a wild diet. Out in nature, pigeons are primarily seed and grain eaters, though they won't turn down a meal of small insects or worms. On the streets of the city, however, the diet of these birds varies significantly, and while there are places where pigeons are fed seeds (like local parks), most of these birds are scavengers, eating whatever scraps they can find on the streets. Pigeons prefer to eat two main meals, one in the morning, and one in the evening, and they tend to have all their dietary needs addressed by sunset every day.
